I'm loving this. I've always been a fan of taking my shoes off once I get home and now I live in Indonesia where everyone goes shoeless and comfortable at home so I'm definitely loving this cute idea to place lettering on the wall, at floor level, as a reminder to take your shoes off. So cute!

Calling Bali Home
John and Cynthia Hardy are well known for their jewelry designs. I blogged about them before HERE after seeing an article about their home in Cookie Magazine. They are now permanent residents of Bali, Indonesia. They have sold their share in the jewelry business and are currently working on a new project of running an international school in their residing area near Ubud.
Now I have found an amazing showcasing of their home by The New York Times. Thank you New York Times. I love you! The Hardy's purchased 11 small properties to build their 110 foot long home on a 2.5 acre area nestled in Bali's Ayung River Valley.
I love how Mrs. Hardy mentions the upkeep of the house mixed with nature's creatures. She is quoted in the article as saying: “We get lots of cobwebs, dust and leaves flying around. Ferns grow out of the wood on the second floor. We even have bee holes in some of the teakwood.” Living in Bali, myself, I now and understand how nature's creatures can find their way into your home. We, too, have spiders, ants, lizards, frogs...all wandering into our house on any given day.
Check out New York Times amazing article HERE.

Beautiful Turquoise Bedroom
I found this beautiful turquoise bedroom via House of Turquoise. I think it would look even better if the chandelier and mirror frames were hot pink as well to give the room a little extra pop of hot pink coloring.

New Prints from Made by Girl
Check out Jennifer's new prints via Made by Girl. They are sized at 16 x 20" for $25 each. So cute...the funny thing is I've been wanting to do something similar to these for my daughter's room after seeing some world posters online. Being America and living in Indonesia, I definitely want my daughter to be exposed to many languages and cultures.

Crescent Dinner Rolls Revamp
Here's a delicious revamp recipe to a simple dinner roll...found via The Newlywed Diaries by Jennifer.
Just take some crescent rolls, brush them with butter and sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on them...Jennifer also recommends adding chopped pecans. Now, simply roll them and bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Jennifer also drizzled hers with a milk and powdered sugar icing. YUM...check out her pictures below.
Pictures and recipe taken from this post via The Newlywed Diaries.
Thanks Jennifer!

DIY Curtain
Here is a great DIY curtain made from tea towels. I have seen this done in a few magazines before. I think it would look so cute in a child's room, bathroom or kitchen. It's fun, light and inexpensive. Simply sew towels together and hang them on a curtain rod using clip hooks! So adorable! If you don't have tea towels, use scrap fabric pieces or pillowcases.

BumGenius
Here are the cloth one size diapers I'm hoping to use for baby-to-be. I love them because they can be used from newborn to potty training year. Still working on locations in Indonesia that sale and ship these for a good price.

Bali's Minimum Monthly Wage Increased
Governor Decrees Rp. 829,316 as the Lowest Permissible Rate-of-Pay in Bali.
(12/12/2009) Effective January 2, 2010, Bali minimum wage level will be increased from Rp. 760,000 (US$76) to Rp. 829,316 (US$82.90).
The new ruling on the lowest legal wage that can be paid to a worker in Bali is the implementation of a decree made by governor Made Mangku Pastika in November 2009.
The minimum wage stipulates the amount of monthly wages and supplemental supports that must be taken home by full time worker in Bali.

Hanging Egg Chair
I have been thinking about getting an egg chair for the house. Not sure yet if it would go in the bedroom or in the living room but I would love to have a relaxing spot to swing with the baby and look out the window and read books. Here's a photo I found. Image taken from HERE. Thoughts?

Bali Blue Moon
A blue moon was to grace the skies of Bali on New Year's Eve. A blue moon is caused when there are two full moons in one month. Check out the article I found HERE at Bali Blog. Image also taken from the same article.
I am also happy to share that the Little River Roasting Company back home in Spartanburg, South Carolina sent me a message on Facebook stating they would be featuring a limited edition Organic Bali Blue Moon coffee all New Year's Eve Day...how cool is that?

I love this chair! Can I have two please? :)
I'm not sure if the chair came as is or if they covered it but this would be an easy project once you found the right fabric.

Peacock Colors...
I've been thinking about doing my living room/workspace in peacock colors and I found these adorable accent pieces from Michael's Art Store. I basically have a clean slate to work with as we just moved into a new house and have no furniture in the living area yet.
What do you think about my peacock colors?

Busy Week...
Hello everyone! I've been super busy this past week trying to get organized in our new home but since it's Monsoon season here and our main mode of transportation is by motorbike, we have plenty of time at home to get some things done. I'm working on loading some pictures to share with you this week of home improvements, a DIY project of mine and a surprise!
I've also been super busy trying to revamp my blog's look so please be patient with me as I move things around and add new features. I plan to add a link list for blog help. During my current blog revamp-still-in-progress project, I found some customizations easy to do and others I'm still researching. So, I hope adding a link list will help some of you who are looking to give your blog a facelift!
So until next time, I will leave you with this adorable red damask tote bag from a friend of mine and fellow blogger, Whitney Caroline Designs. I saw it a few months ago and just went back to look again and realized it's out of stock!
I would love for her to share with me how she made her profile picture big and different from the one that shows on her Full Profile Page. Does anyone know how to do that?

Our New House!
We finally moved into our new house! It is a traditional style Balinese home that, with a little TLC, will be our home sweet home. You can view the pictures HERE.
The pictures were taken before we moved in. The owners have done a few renovations since and we still have some to do ourselves. One thing we are not excited about is the paint on the inside. I love the mustardy color but the paint job itself is horrible so we may repaint it the same color or all white. I actually love the look of all white walls and floors, plus it's so easy to decorate with!
More pictures and updates to come, so stay tuned!

Many people back home have emailed me regarding baby gifts so here you go!
Target has 24 items and Bed Bath & Beyond has 5 items on the registry. I took off all the bedding as we are still looking for something here.
You can find my registry at Target under my name or view it online here: https://www.target.com/registry/baby/2GSV5XBU59Q19
The Bed Bath & Beyond Registry, you can find at the store under my name, Event date: March 7, 2010, Registry #: 5382037.
And the Diaper bag I would love here (swoon): http://www.duematernity.com/stsakemdibag.html
If you order something online, it will ship directly to my Mom so she can send it to me OR you can send it by regular mail or carrier (DHL/FedEx). We have moved into our new house. YAY! If you already sent something to the old address it's fine, just let me know so I can have my neighbor be on the look out for it!
